We have two church schools in our parish. Our primary school, St John the Divine, is located on the Camberwell New Road. It has one form in each year group. In its 2008 Ofsted report it was judged to be ‘Outstanding’ in all 27 areas inspected, with the comment that it is ‘an outstanding school of which pupils and their parents are, justifiably very proud’. Ofsted have since featured the school in a guide of 20 primary schools performing outstandingly despite challenging local conditions.
The Vicar and members of the congregation take an active role in the governance of the school, and in supporting its day-to-day life. The clergy lead assemblies in school, and children and staff come to church at least every half-term for Mass on feasts and special occasions. Mass is also celebrated in school.

The parish secondary school is currently called Charles Edward Brooke, and is currently a girls’ school for Years 7-11. As in the primary school, the clergy and members of the congregation are involved in the governance of the school. Girls regularly visit the church for Mass, and also attend services by form group in the school’s chapel. School assemblies provide further opportunities for spiritual reflection and development. The school has been judged 'a Good school' by Ofsted, with 'Outstanding curriculum'.
From September 2012, the school is being renamed St Gabriel's College, and is becoming a Church of England school for boys and girls from Years 7-11. The college has also been chosen by one of the most successful businessmen in the UK, Sir Martin Sorrell, to be the Education and Business partner of his advertising company WPP, which is the largest in the world. The church has been highly involved in these exciting developments, and its links with the school will continue to remain very strong.
