As you enter St John the Divine Kennington by the North door, look up and you will see the Korean Icon, a magnificent painting of Our Lord in Glory above the door.

The icon is designed in the style of an iconostasis, an Orthodox sanctuary screen which is traditionally covered in many small icons of saints and patriarchs.

The Korean Icon was painted by members of the Brotherhood of St Seraphim, a Russian Orthodox Religious Community whose Monastery is in an old converted railway station Walsingham in Norfolk. It was dedicated to the glory of God and as a memorial to Bishop Corfe, who founded the Anglican Church in Korea in 1890.
